The Philippine people

Where to start on this one… First impressions can so many times be so very wrong, and the first thing that happened to me was a greeter at the airport trying to scam me for an insane amount of cash for a simple phone call. But as my mahal came along she told him of, so if you’re going here for the first time make sure you have local to pick you up.

As you enter the city area be prepared for shock, especially if you arrive at night. Poverty here is everywhere and it’s hard not to shed a tear for the conditions some of these people live with. And the architecture is like nothing I’ve ever seen before, you can’t even fit a sheet of paper in between houses. Once you reach your destination though you’ll be relieved to see that the middle class is thriving here. Everyone is hard working and honest, though a lot of them seems to be embarrassed when trying to speak English with a white guy. Guess that’s normal for these people, though they really should try harder. Most of them have really soft voices and as a foreigner i love listening to them. But the karaoke might be a bit too hard for some :P

Some are eager to help you with whatever but sorting those out from the ones that wants to take advantage of you or scam you takes practice, more than what I’ve gotten so far so I’m still forced to rely on the people close to me. Both my Jazzie and her roommate have been so kind and helpful i almost feel as if I’m taking advantage of them, I’ve tried pointing that out but it’s always been brushes aside as if it’s normal for them to take care of guest this way, which would be really impressive and something I really want to bring back home to Sweden. The over all mentality of the people here is so much more beautiful than the one we have back home. I don’t even know how to describe it. The Philippine people are really something and should share their culture with the world as much as possible.

Mall of Asia

Sweet GEEZAZ this mall is big, really big. HUGE even! We walked around for the whole day and didn’t even visit half the stores in there!
Had a great time to say the least, couldn’t help but to go ice skating in the rink they have there. Which was Jazzies first time on the ice, and she only fell down once. Too bad we forgot to bring the camera doing this, had it locked in with our bags. Shortly after that we went out to the Manila bay and shared a perfect sunset, oh it was so romantic just thinking about makes me feel a warm and fuzzy inside.

But here you go, all the pictures from that day :D

More pictures!

Had a day out at a mall called Landmark and my mahal more or less forced me to be the centerpiece of every picture :P

First pics from Manila

Here we go, I finally have a day of and have time to make a post. There’s so much going here I don’t even know where to begin. Lets just say it’s a friggin HUGE city. And the prices around here… Don’t get me started! I bought a little clothes yesterday, good quality and known brands, the thing is, I didn’t loose any money. That’s how cheap it is! :O

But enough of that, you wanted some pictures and here are the first ones. Enjoy!
